Hi, I’m Joy Allovio.
Anxiety and Trauma therapist in Waco, Texas and online throughout Texas.
Are you a woman who feels anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck reliving old memories? Maybe you’re managing day to day life, but feel out of control in your mind. Many of the women I work with are capable and thoughtful, yet feel tired, unsure, or disconnected from what they want or need.
I help slow things down so we can better understand how your mind and body respond to stress. Together, we work to ease the patterns that keep you feeling on edge, so you can feel safer in your body, calmer in your relationships, and more confident in yourself. Therapy with me is supportive and grounded in both science and compassion. It’s a space where you can feel understood and begin making meaningful, lasting change.
If you’re ready for support that helps you understand why you think, feel, and respond the way you do, you’re in the right place.
I’m Joy Allovio, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Waco, TX. I offer in-person therapy in Waco and virtual sessions across Texas. I work with women who are ready for change and want to feel less anxious and more like themselves again.
I became a therapist because I’ve seen how deeply early experiences and relationships shape the way we move through the world. What we learn early on about safety, connection, and responsibility doesn’t just disappear, it shows up in how we think, feel, and relate to others. Many women learn to be responsible, accommodating, or emotionally strong without realizing how much their mind and body are still trying to protect them. Anxiety, people-pleasing, and self-doubt aren’t flaws, they’re patterns that once helped you feel safe. Therapy with me focuses on understanding those patterns and gently shifting them.
Together, we will:
Understand why your mind and body react the way they do
Explore patterns in relationships, anxiety, and self-doubt
Learn practical ways to cope, regulate, and feel more grounded
Process past experiences in a way that feels safe and manageable
Healing doesn’t come from pushing yourself harder, it comes from slowing down, getting curious, and reconnecting with what feels true for you.
You don’t have to figure this out alone. My goal is to make therapy feel approachable and tailored to what you actually need. I incorporate EMDR, somatic awareness, and relational work at a pace that feels right for you.
